Manchester United had a rough start to their 2025/26 Premier League campaign as they were defeated by Arsenal by a solitary goal.
The Red Devils conceded that goal due to a goalkeeping error from Altay Bayindir. However, very few expected the Turkish star to start in goal.
In the pre-match press conference, Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim declared that both Joshua Zirkzee and Andre Onana were fit for their opening game.
So, as the No.1 keeper of Manchester United, Onana was expected to start the game even though he was not part of the preseason tour.
Even if he doesn’t start, it is expected that the No.1 goalkeeper should be on the bench. However, Onana was nowhere near the first-team squad of Manchester United.
And, this has raised the speculation that Andre Onana might be on his way out of the United team.
Transfer News Live already reported that the Red Devils are looking to sell Onana before the transfer window shuts.
Most outlets were reporting that Ruben Amorim is looking at either Emiliano Martinez or Gianluigi Donnarumma to replace Onana.
However, according to The Sun, the main Manchester United target to replace Andre Onana is the man who left Old Trafford to make space for the Cameroonian.

De Gea’s performances for the Italian side have impressed Amorim, and now, he wants to bring the Spaniard back to Old Trafford.
The 34-year-old has made over 500 appearances for the Red Devils with 190 clean sheets, which is an excellent record to have.
So, United will be eager to have those clean sheets again if De Gea rejoins the club from Fiorentina.
