Manchester United’s situation in this summer transfer window reminds us of the famous line from S.T. Coleridge: “Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink”.
With the way Saudi clubs are taking over the transfer market in Europe, every club is eyeing an offer for their players from these clubs.
The reason is quite simple: they have massive money to spend. And, most clubs want to take a dip into that ocean of Saudi money.
And when Manchester United needed to sell players to arrange funds to bring in players, they would have been desperate for some Saudi offers.
Well, the Saudi clubs didn’t disappoint United. They have made offers for Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jadon Sancho. But all of them rejected Saudi offers.
Also, Bruno Fernandes received a massive offer from Al-Hilal at the start of the window. But he also rejected the move. Now, there is an offer on the table for Bruno from Al-Ittihad.
Manchester United are letting their captain decide his fate. However, underneath, they will be hoping to secure that big-money move.
Meanwhile, there is another instance at Manchester United where one of their players have rejected an offer from a Saudi Pro League club.
Bruno Fernandes is not that player as he is yet to make up his mind. According to Fabrizio Romano, the player in question is Alejandro Garnacho.
The Argentine received another offer from a Saudi Pro League club. The name of this club has not been disclosed by the Italian journalist.
Romano also stated that Garnacho is now very close to joining Chelsea. Yet, United would have loved to get some Saudi cash as they eye a midfielder before the transfer window shuts.
