Arsenal have gone into the international break top of the Premier League table.

This comes after a last gasp draw against Manchester City and wins against Newcastle United and West Ham United.

After back-to-back losses for Liverpool and the reigning champions looking out of sorts, this has opened up the opportunity for the Gunners to win their first Premier League title since the 2003/04 season.

This summer, Arsenal have been active in the transfer window.

They have added Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyökeres, Martín Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The club are now at a point where they possess arguably the best squad depth, something that has been an issue for them in previous title challenges.

This had led to plenty of competition between players in the squad, with some of the fringe players keen to make an impression on manager Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal fans will have been concerned about the performance of one of their players during the current international break.

Arsenal accused of being a ghost in 5/10 World Cup qualifier performance

During a game with North Macedonia in their FIFA World Cup qualifier, Belgium failed to put themselves back on top of Group J with a 0-0 home draw.

However, despite the loss, there is a chance for both Belgium and Wales to go top of the table.

Both have a game in hand over Macedonia, with Belgium just a point behind and Wales an additional point behind.

With Wales and Belgium facing a game on Monday in Cardiff, this adds extra importance to a fixture that already had a lot of people talking.

One player that will want to make an impact is Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard.

During the draw against Macedonia, the former Brighton and Hove Albion attacker struggled.

According to RTBF, Trossard struggled in the draw and was given a 5/10 rating.

Playing as the false nine, Trossard was accused of being a ghost.

The review of his performance was damming.

“It sometimes feels like he’s a bit immune to the national team. Never particularly lively lately with the Red Devils, Leandro was once again a Trossard.

“Namely, starting as a false nine, he was a ghost for a good part of the match (9 touches after… 30 minutes) before coming close to assisting (45th minute) and then scoring with his knee just after the break. Another uneven performance, almost saved by a decisive move, which left us wanting more.”
