Crystal Palace make Adam Wharton transfer decision amid Manchester United links

Crystal Palace will be bracing themselves up for a busy January.

Manchester United will be looking to sign a midfielder in January. And, they have placed Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace as their top target.

This summer, Manchester United wanted to sign Carlos Baleba. But they failed in their pursuit because Brighton closed the door in their face.

However, Ruben Amorim was adamant about signing a midfielder. And, the reason for that is quite evident so far this season. Most clubs have dominated United in the midfield.

Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro do not fit together as number 8s. That is why Amorim wanted to sign a proper holding midfielder.

That is why in January, they will be eyeing a move for Adam Wharton. However, Manchester United are not the only club looking to sign the former Blackburn Rovers midfielder.

Real Madrid, Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Manchester City are all linked with a move for Wharton. With that said. Crystal Palace will have a tough time keeping Wharton beyond January.

However, the Eagles have made a strict decision now on this matter. They are expecting multiple offers for Adam Wharton.

But, according to Football Insider, Crystal Palace are ready to reject any offer they would get for Adam Wharton. They would not even contemplate doing a deal.

Meanwhile, their president, Steve Parish, has confirmed that he expects Adam Wharton will leave at some point to play in the Champions League.

So, he hopes that Palace can make it to the elite European competition to keep hold of Wharton. Also, this could be seen as a blow for United, who are struggling to qualify for the Champions League.

However, if Real Madrid come calling for Adam Wharton, Crystal Palace might get a transfer request from the midfielder as well. So, Palace will be bracing themselves up for a busy January.
