After leaving Manchester United for Barcelona this summer, Marcus Rashford seems a different player.
There was no doubt about his ability. However, something was holding him back at United. And now, with Barcelona, he has the freedom to express himself on the pitch fully.
However, Rashford’s start to life at Camp Nou was not ideal. But his brace against Newcastle United in the Champions League gave him a new life.
Initially, Hansi Flick was not happy about what Rashford was doing on the pitch. There were reports that the German boss even gave him an earful inside the dressing room.
However, things have changed drastically for Rashford and now, he has 8 goal contributions in 10 appearances for the Catalan club.
Barcelona are very happy with what Rashford is doing. Yet, initially, there were some doubts about signing the player from United. A source from The Sun revealed:
“Barcelona had an issue with signing Marcus initially, which was the club’s financial situation.
“But they also thought United were playing a game because they were willing to let him go.
“They thought it was too good to be true — there must be something wrong with him.
“His brother Dwaine persuaded them there was nothing wrong — and that he wasn’t going to mess them about.
“Barca are now really shocked that they could sign him for what they see as a bargain.”
According to the same report, Barcelona are ready to sign Rashford on a permanent basis. They already have a buy option for £25 million with £5 million in add-ons.
The Catalan club believe that this will be a bargain deal for the player of Rashford’s quality. However, Manchester United might want a large fee as Transfer News Live reported earlier.
So, next summer, the transfer of Marcus Rashford to Barcelona will be a hot topic for sure.
🚨 Barcelona are ecstatic with Marcus Rashford’s form and are ready to take up the option to make his loan move from Manchester United a permanent one.
Having now seen the player over some months, they can’t believe they’ve managed to agree such a low option fee of around £26M.… pic.twitter.com/edMQlw4D71
