When the January transfer window opens, Manchester United will not be sitting still. The Red Devils will be on the move as they have some huge gaps to fill in their squad.
After 7 games in the Premier League, they are sitting in the 10th position. This is not something unexpected for others, but for the ones associated with United, they expected better.
When the nightmare of a season ended last year, Ruben Amorim vowed that better days would come.
However, those days are getting darker day by day and the sun above Old Trafford is hiding behind the clouds.
After these 7 Premier League games and a solitary Carabao Cup game, it is quite evident that Manchester United should have signed a midfielder.
It is not that they didn’t try. Even the Brighton chief informed the press that Manchester United wanted to sign Carlos Baleba, but the Seagulls were not ready to do the deal.
Now, in January, United will be looking to sign a midfielder. And, they are expected to return for Baleba. But a January deal is highly unlikely for the Cameroonian.
However, United have other targets in their mind as well. Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid can be a viable option for the Red Devils.
But the deals for the likes of Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson seem far-fetched and only possible if Kobbie Mainoo leaves in January.
Meanwhile, some people at United are already planning the Baleba transfer for next summer, when Brighton will be willing to do the deal. Now, The Sun has an interesting take on this transfer saga.
As per their report, Bryan Mbeumo, who plays for the Cameroonian national team alongside Carlos Baleba, is trying to convince the midfielder to join Manchester United next summer.
Earlier, Andre Onana did the same when Mbeumo was close to joining Manchester United. And the goalkeeper convinced him to join the club.
It looks like Ruben Amorim is serious about creating a midfield around Carlos Baleba.
