Manchester United had a poor start to their 2025/26 Premier League campaign. After 3 wins, 3 losses, and a draw, the Red Devils are in 10th position with 10 points.
Clearly, Ruben Amorim is under fire due to the lack of progress as far as results go. That is why there are speculations about his future at the club.
Even though Sir Jim Ratcliffe is backing Amorim to prove that he is a good manager, new names are emerging every now and then as the successor to the Portuguese at Old Trafford.
A few days back, Barcelona legend and former manager, Xavi Hernandez, was mentioned to be the next manager of Manchester United once Ruben Amorim gets the sack.
Now, a new name has emerged to take over the role at United.
According to the Daily Mail Sport, former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has claimed that he’s been approached to replace Ruben Amorim.
The Italian led Citizens to their first-ever Premier League trophy in 2012. Mancini last managed the Saudi Arabian national team and left the role last year.
Now, he is without a club and looking to get back to management again. However, Ruben Amorim has bought time for himself with the win against Sunderland in the last game at Old Trafford.
Manchester United will face Liverpool at Anfield this Sunday in the Premier League. And, if United fail to get something out of this game, questions will come back on Amorim’s future.
