Nottingham Forest fired Ange Postecoglou weeks after hiring the Australian. Now, Postecoglou is eyeing a sensational return. This might shock most football fans.
Forest qualified for European football last season after 30 years of absence. They had a terrific run under Nuno Espirito Santo.
However, towards the start of the season, the Portuguese’s relationship with the Nottingham Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, completely broke down.
As a result, Nuno’s sack was inevitable, and after three Premier League games in the new season, Forest made the official announcement.
After Nuno, Marinakis hired Ange Postecoglou, the man who won the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur and still got the sack from Daniel Levy.
However, Ange’s tenure as the manager of Nottingham Forest was a forgettable and farcical one. The Australian was in-charge of eight games and failed to win any one of them.
After 39 days of being appointed as the Forest manager, the club announced his departure within 20 minutes of the final whistle at Stamford Bridge, where Forest got decimated by Chelsea 3-0.
Since then, Marinakis has hired Sean Dyche, the former Everton and Burnley boss. Dyche has been in charge of two games, and he won the Europa League tie with Porto and lost the Burnley game.
However, as Transfer News Live reported earlier, Sean Dyche could be sacked already, as Nottingham Forest have identified his successor.
And if that truly happens, then Forest fans should be livid because the club has no stability. However, Forest fans will be happy as Postecoglou will not be returning to their club.
In fact, Ange is eyeing a move back to the club from where he started becoming popular as a manager in the European circuit.
According to Football Insider, Ange Postecoglou could return to Celtic after the Scottish giants parted ways with Brendan Rodgers.
After a poor start to the season, Rodgers decided to leave the club. Ange Postecoglou had a successful time with Celtic. He won back-to won back-to-back Scottish Premierships with Celtic.
Also, the Australian won a domestic Treble with the Celts. So, Ange would be eager to get his coaching career back on track if he rejoins The Bhoys.
