Real Madrid haven’t had the season they would have hoped.
Following a summer outlay which included Kylian Mbappe and Kendrick joining the club, there were unsurprisingly high expectations for the modern-day galacticos.
But a failed title challenge, along with defeats to Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey final and Arsenal in the Champions League quarter finals have left it as a season of “What if’s” for Madrid.
Their plight hasn’t been helped by injury struggles, with several big names having faced lengthy absences.
One area of struggle this season has been at left back, following Ferland Mendy’s injuries and David Alaba being out for most of the season with an ACL injury.
However, recent murmurs coming out of Madrid recently could develop into very exciting news, against one of the clubs who ended their season…
The Sun are reporting that Real Madrid are tracking young Arsenal sensation Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The teenager’s contract is due to expire in 2026, and despite talk of a new deal being on the table, reports are suggesting renewal talks aren’t progressing as hoped.
This would be a bitter blow for the Gunners, with Myles Lewis-Skelly’s breakthrough being one of the stories of the season.
The midfielder-turned left back has cemented himself in the Arsenal team following an injury crisis, and has put in some memorable performances this season against the likes of Man City and Real Madrid themselves.
Myles Lewis-Skelly looks to have all the tools to be a super player wherever he plays, and he is still only 18.
It would be some coup for Madrid, who are developing a knack of signing Premier League stars on free transfers.
Would Arsenal be prepared to let one of their brightest prospects leave on a free? They will be hoping not.
