The Fenerbahce goalkeeper made headlines when a video showed him reacting to home fans following a win over Caykur Rizespor.
The clip showed him grabbing his groin twice in a provocative gesture. The incident angered supporters and pushed officials to take action.
A Spor reported that authorities referred him to the PFDK, Turkey’s Professional Football Disciplinary Board.
Fenerbahce reacted quickly and started preparing a full defence for their goalkeeper. The club has not revealed what they plan to argue, but they want the panel to consider the full context.
Ederson only joined Fenerbahce in the summer after leaving Manchester City. He already has five clean sheets in 11 matches and has built a strong connection with his new teammates.
But he also has a history of fiery clashes with fans. Earlier this season, he tried to volley a plastic cup back toward the crowd in the Istanbul derby.
In 2023, he went viral for mocking Arsenal supporters after a big win.
Now he waits for the PFDK to decide what happens next, and the club hopes the case does not derail his season.
