Arsenal will take on Brentford in their Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are at the top of the table. However, Mikel Arteta is facing injury problems for many of his stars.

Still, his team is getting the job done in most occasions. Against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Arsenal cruised to a 3-1 victory at home.

The game before the Bayern match, the Gunners humbled their arch-rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, in a 4-1 victory in the North London Derby.

However, they failed to keep their winning run going at Stamford Bridge. Arteta will be disappointed, as Chelsea were down to 10 men after a red card to Moises Caicedo.

Arteta had to change his backline completely for that game and start Piero Hincapie and Cristhian Mosquera.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, his usual two centre-backs, were out due to respective injuries. Gabriel suffered an injury during his time with the Brazil national team.

Saliba picked up a knock during the preparation for the Chelsea game. And for that, he had to sit out. Now, the Arsenal boss has given an update on the situation of the French defender.

Mikel Arteta said during his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash against Brentford:

“He had a little niggle, so I think it’s going to be a matter of days, so let’s see if he’s able to be there tomorrow.

“The ankle one [earlier in the season] was really random, and a very unlucky action that kept him out for a few weeks.

“He tried at Anfield, he wasn’t comfortable, and he had to stay away. This one as well, very bizarre, but hopefully it will be a matter of days.”

So, when Saliba returns, it will be a huge boost for the Gunners, as they press on in their quest to win the Premier League after two decades.
