Manchester United signed Benjamin Sesko this summer with the hope of better results in front of goal.
Last year, United were poor in front of goal. Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scored 18 in total in all competitions.
That is why the Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League last season. Also, they lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
It meant that Manchester United will not feature in any European competition this season.
Now, United have sent Rasmus Hojlund on loan to Napoli, where he is reviving his career. He has netted 6 times already this season for the Italian side.
But for United’s new signing, things are not going that well. So far this season, Benjamin Sesko has scored twice in 12 games for the Red Devils.
He also got himself injured while playing against Tottenham Hotspur in a 2-2 draw. Since then, he has been out of action for Manchester United.
However, his agent has dropped a massive update on his recovery. Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, appeared on a Slovenian TV channel where he gave clarity on his client’s situation.
Basanovic said (quotes via GIVEMESPORT):
“Benjamin is feeling very well. His rehabilitation is progressing according to plan.
“It’s hard to say precisely when he will return. That will be up to the medical staff and the manager, but I think we’ll see him back on the pitch very soon. Maybe even sooner than expected.”
Sesko’s agent also backed the under-fire Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim. Apart from that, he praised United’s transfer business in the summer. He said:
“Manchester United did well in the transfer market this summer. They brought in some excellent players who will prove over the next few years that they deserve to wear this shirt.”
The Red Devils are now in sixth place in the Premier League table after winning against Wolves at Molineux.
