Manchester United are in talks for a shock pre-season friendly against an unexpected team.

The current season for Manchester United is filled with ups and downs. They started off poorly with a loss to Arsenal and a draw to Fulham.

They tasted their first victory of the season against Burnley at Old Trafford. Since then, the Red Devils have had some memorable outings as well as some forgettable ones.

Inconsistency is something that Ruben Amorim will have to address. He needs to find answers before it gets too late.

No matter what, Manchester United have to be in Europe next season. Otherwise, there will be a new face at Old Trafford’s dugout next season.

So, it is still not clear who will be in charge of the Red Devils next summer. Meanwhile, Manchester United are already planning for next summer’s pre-season.

They are in talks for a shock pre-season friendly against an unexpected team. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are in talks with Wrexham for a pre-season friendly next summer.

If this match truly happens, then it would not be the first time these two teams faced off in a friendly match. The last time they faced was in 2023 in San Diego.

It was an infamous match because of an unfortunate incident. Because of that incident, many thought that the two teams would never face each other again in a friendly match.

Manchester United lost that game by 3-1. However, the controversy emerged as the then-United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop went for a challenge on then-Wrexham star Paul Mullin.

Mullin suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung because of that challenge, and Bishop faced online abuse. So, Wrexham owner Ryan Reylonds had to intervene to stop the abuse.

Thus, if United and Wrexham collide again, the memories of that infamous game will reappear in the minds of many.
