Manchester United prepared to sell star in January

United are eyeing several names.

Ruben Amorim

Manchester United are looking to sign a midfielder in January. They wanted to sign one in the summer. That is why they even made an offer to Brighton & Hove Albion for Carlos Baleba.

However, the Seagulls declined the offer. Also, United didn’t have the time to pursue any other player in the summer.

That is why Ruben Amorim will be looking to sign a midfielder, as it is one area in his team that needs improvement.

Also, the Red Devils are not happy with the performance of several of their stars. And now, Amorim is ready to part ways with a number of them.

Yes, Manchester United are ready to entertain offers for a key player during the January transfer window. The midfielder is no longer a part of Ruben Amorim’s long-term plans.

According to Football Insider, Manuel Ugarte has failed to convince the new manager and could be moved on if the right offer arrives.

The 24-year-old Uruguay international has struggled for consistency this season. And, he has fallen behind Casemiro in the pecking order, starting just three matches in all competitions.

United are actively planning a midfield overhaul and see a potential Ugarte sale as a way to generate funds for new signings.

The club have already made it clear that strengthening the centre of the pitch is a priority heading into the new year.

Football Insider revealed that Amorim now has the authority to reshape the squad. And he is open to letting Ugarte leave to free up both space and budget.

United are eyeing several names, including Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, as Amorim looks to build on a positive start to his reign.

Now, Ugarte is still a capable player, and he will have strong interest from elsewhere. But Manchester United appear ready to act decisively if a substantial bid is submitted in January.
