Arsenal had a fantastic summer transfer window. That is why the Gunners are dominating the Premier League this season. They already have a seven-point lead at the top of the table.
Mikel Arteta’s men had a chance to increase that lead to nine points if they managed to get three points against Nottingham Forest. But they dropped points at the City Ground.
Also, Manchester City lost to their arch-rivals, Manchester United, and Aston Villa lost to Everton. It was a great chance for Arteta’s men to increase their lead even further.
If they can continue playing the way they have, then the Gunners will surely bring the Premier League title home after more than two decades.
Meanwhile, Andrea Berta has decided to make Arsenal’s defence stronger. The combination of Berta and Arteta worked fantastically for the Premier League leaders last summer.
Next summer, they are hoping to replicate that. And, one of their main targets will be signing a full-back. And, they have identified a Serie A defender who can be perfect for the Gunners.
According to Tuttosport, Arsenal have set their sights on Federico Dimarco of Inter Milan. Dimarco has a contract with the Nerazzurri till 2027.
Mikel Arteta would love to add a player like Dimarco to his team. The wingback can surely elevate the quality of play of the Gunners.
However, Arteta might face disappointment in his pursuit of the wingback. The same report states that the player is not looking to leave Inter.
Dimarco is a boyhood Inter Milan fan, and he doesn’t want to leave the club. He is looking forward to signing a new deal.
Cristian Chivu, the Inter Milan manager, is also happy with the player and wants him to stay at the club. And that is why the Nerazzurri could offer him a hefty pay rise in his new deal.
So, Arsenal may find disappointment in their pursuit of Federico Dimarco, as the player wants to stay at the club.
