Arsenal have been quiet in the January transfer market. After a successful summer window, the Gunners feel they have the squad that can win the Premier League title.
Also, they are leading the title race. The Gunners have a seven-point cushion over Manchester City and Aston Villa.
However, Arsenal are keeping tabs on several players. And one of those players is from Real Madrid. Mikel Arteta wants to have a stronger defence.
So far this season, Arsenal’s defence have been standout. They have conceded the fewest goals in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
In the Champions League, they have conceded only once, and that too against Bayern Munich. So, now, they are ready to bolster their defence with a Real Madrid star.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners are monitoring Victor Valdepenas of Real Madrid. The 19-year-old has made only one appearance for the senior team.
However, Mikel Arteta believes the player could be useful for his team. Yes, he will not go into the first team immediately.
Yet, the Gunners believe that they can help him become a first team starter. But Real Madrid hold a strong position in this deal.
Valdepenas has a contract with Real Madrid until 2029. So, the Gunners will have to convince the Los Blancos to part ways with the player.
So, the next few months will be important, as Arsenal have several names on their list and they will keep tabs on Victor Valdepenas’ performances.
