Arsenal are already planning for the summer transfer window. Last summer, it is fair to say that the Gunners did smart business. They built a squad that can become the best in Europe.

So far, the Gunners are alive in all competitions. They are already in the round of 16 of the Champions League and made it through to the next round of the FA Cup.

Also, they are in the final of the Carabao Cup. The Gunners will face Manchester City in the final. Moreover, they are leading the Premier League table by four points.

And it all began last summer for the Gunners. That is why Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta know the importance of picking quality players as targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Spaniard will be looking to add a new left winger next summer. Yes, he already has Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli at his disposal.

However, just like last summer, he wants more depth in his squad. That is why now he will be eyeing a move for a La Liga superstar.

Now, Barcelona are also monitoring the players. They failed to sign him last summer, even though the player was heavily linked with the Blaugrana.

According to TEAMtalk, the Gunners have made Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao one of their main targets for next summer.

Williams signed a shock 10-year deal at San Mames. On the surface, that looked like the end of transfer talk.

However, that contract included a release clause worth around €100 million. Furthermore, Arsenal and Barcelona are not alone in this race.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are keeping an eye on his situation. Also, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have also been briefed as part of a deliberate market test.

So, if the Gunners can trigger his release clause, then they might sign one of the most exciting Spanish wingers of this generation.
