Recently, the agent of Jurgen Klopp, Marc Kosicke, did an interview where he claimed that both Manchester United and Chelsea approached the former Liverpool manager.
After sacking Ruben Amorim, United have not appointed a new permanent boss. They are now under the interim manager, Michael Carrick.
Chelsea, on the other hand, parted ways with Enzo Marescca and appointed Liam Rosenior as their new manager. Also, Jurgen Klopp has been linked with Real Madrid as well.
During the interview with Transfermarkt, Kosicke claimed:
“Before joining Red Bull, Jurgen could have coached the United States or England. Probably also Germany, if Julian Nagelsmann hadn’t already been there.
“Even Chelsea and Manchester United inquired, although Jurgen had clearly stated that he would not coach any other club in England.”
Now, both clubs have made their stance clear on this claim from Klopp’s agent through the Press Association. Mirror reports:
“Both United and Chelsea strongly deny making approaches to Klopp, either personally or via his representative.”
Recently, Klopp was the guest on the Diary of a CEO podcast, where he opened up about a possible return to management. The German said:
“I said I will never coach a different team in England.
“So that means if [I return] it’s Liverpool. So yeah, theoretically it’s possible. I love what I do right now, I don’t miss coaching. I don’t. I mean I do coach, just different, not players.
“And I don’t miss it. I don’t miss standing in the rain two-and-a-half, three hours. I don’t miss going to press conference three times a week, having 10-12 interviews a week. I don’t miss that.”
Marc Kosicke also said that Klopp is very happy with his achievement as a football manager. The agent said:
“These inquiries keep coming. He’s extremely happy with what he’s achieved.
“And it’s still wonderful to go down in history as one of the few coaches who only managed three clubs and were never fired.”
So, it is unlikely that the former Liverpool boss will return to football management anytime soon. Currently, he is the Head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull ground and is enjoying his work.
