Michael Carrick is turning things around at Manchester United. However,  among all the positives around Old Trafford, there has been a controversy surrounding Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s statement.

During an interview with Sky Sports, Sir Jim spoke about the immigrants of the UK. His statement caused outrage, and the UK Prime Minister had to issue a response.

Even Pep Guardiola had to issue a response to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s comments. Now, the current Manchester United boss had his say about the matter. He said during the press conference:

“What I can say is, as I’ve been around this club many, many years, we always make a huge impact globally.

“We’re really proud of the environment and the culture that we’ve got at the club, and equality and diversity and respect for each other is something that we look to carry through every day.

“I’ve travelled the world and I know what this club means to an awful lot of people, so I’m fully aware of the responsibility, and we’re trying to carry that out every single day.

“I’m proud of what the club stands for, and has done for so long.”

During the interview, Sir Jim Ratcliffe said:

“You can’t have an economy with nine million people on benefits and huge levels of immigrants coming in. I mean, the UK has been colonised. It’s costing too much money.

“The UK has been colonised by immigrants, really, hasn’t it? I mean, the population of the UK was 58 million in 2020, now it’s 70 million. That’s 12 million people.”

As Transfer News Live revealed earlier, Sir Jim Ratcliffe could face disciplinary action from the Football Association.
