Arsenal fans are fuming over the Premier League’s fixture change. Transfer News Live recently reported that Manchester City were asking for a special favour from the Premier League.
Now, the fans of the Gunners believe the Premier League have handed the Citizens the favour they wanted. City were facing a congested fixture list towards the end of the season.
They reached the FA Cup final and will face Chelsea at Wembley on 16th May. Also, their clash against Bournemouth was scheduled on the 17th.
Now, the Premier League have released new dates for Manchester City‘s fixtures. Also, the latest changes will affect Arsenal’s fixtures.
And that is where Arsenal fans are unhappy. The Gunners’ final home game of the season was against Burnley on 17th May. Now, it will take place on the following day.
Meanwhile, Manchester City’s clash against Bournemouth will be played on 19th May and on the same day, Chelsea will face Tottenham Hotspur.
Furthermore, Aston Villa’s clash with Liverpool and Nottingham Forest’s clash against Manchester United will depend on their Europa League semi-final tie.
Whichever team wins that game will play their Premier League match on 15th May. After the release of the new dates, Arsenal fans voiced their opinions on social media.
One fan wrote: “Absolute f*****g disgrace by the Premier League, no thought for fans whatsoever.”
Another fan wrote: “Absolute disgrace. Match-going fan gets screwed over once again. How many people’s plans are ruined as a result of this? Shame on this league.”
So, it is clear that fans are unhappy with these changes. The Premier League had to make these changes because of the fixture congestion of many clubs.
