Clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, and many others have large commercial deals to generate revenue that fund their football operations.

So, commercial deals are now the backbone of modern football. However, some commercial deals raise controversy.

Now, for a club that is on the ascendency, such controversies are totally uncalled for. Thus, at Arsenal, one long-standing agreement has moved into that final stage.

The Gunners are having a great run in both European and domestic. They have won all their games in the Champions League.

In the Premier League, Arsenal are sitting at the top of the table with a four point lead over Manchester City, who are currently occupying the second spot in the table.

Next, Mikel Arteta’s men will face Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby. However, the Gunners have taken a giant step before the crucial game.

They are ending a massive sponsorship deal after mutual agreement with the sponsors.

Arsenal announced that their eight-year sponsorship with Visit Rwanda will end after the 2025-26 season.

In a joint statement, the club and the Rwanda Development Board said they had “mutually agreed” to conclude the partnership.

Arsenal added that the agreement had “exceeded its original goals,” especially in promoting conservation, sustainable tourism and Rwanda’s ambition to become a sporting hub.

According to CEO Richard Garlick, the revenue from the deal played a key role in strengthening Arsenal’s long-term strategy to compete for major trophies.

At the same time, Rwanda’s presence in global sport will continue. The brand remains linked with PSG and Atletico Madrid.

Also they have recently expanded into the US market through partnerships with the LA Rams and the LA Clippers.
