It has been an eventful July for Arsenal Football Club.
So far this month, they have signed goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for €5.80 million, along with two defensive midfielders in Martín Zubimendi (€70 million) and Christian Nørgaard (€11.60m).
The club is also reportedly close to signing Chelsea winger Noni Madueke and the rumours of Viktor Gyökeres continue to persist.
There seems to be a “now or never” feeling surrounding Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
Since his appointment in 2019, the former Rangers, Everton and Arsenal midfielder has fast become one of the most polarising managers in world football.
The Arsenal fanbase, even the most supportive of Arteta, are starting to become more and more frustrated with the Spaniard’s lack of success.
With the players at his disposal, many feel the Spaniard should have done more than what he has for the Gunners.
With an aim to turn three straight second place Premier League finishes into a league title, Arteta and the Arsenal board are attempting to add to the depth of the squad.
In late June, Arsenal secured the future of youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The 18-year-old signed a long-term contract that runs until 2030 after an impressive breakthrough season for the club.
They are now close to securing the future of another bright young star at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal youngster contract talks progressing well
It has been reported that Arsenal have made progress surrounding the contract extension of youngster Ethan Nwaneri.
Nwaneri, 18, became the youngest player in Premier League history back in September 2022 at the age of 15.
Since then, he has gone on to make 39 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring nine and assisting two.
Through Bukayo Saka’s injury last season, this saw Nwaneri earn more first team football.
It now appears that the club have seen enough to want him there for the future.
