Jack Wilshere is having a tough time a Luton Town. The team, which played in the Premier League a couple of seasons ago, now find themselves in League One.
The former Arsenal man has been getting criticised for his tactics as the football is not as attractive as Luton fans expected it to be.
That is why Jack Wilshere found himself in an uncomfortable but revealing moment after Luton Town’s dramatic late draw with Leyton Orient.
The Hatters boss attempted to defuse tensions with an unhappy supporter in the away end.
Luton snatched a point deep into stoppage time when Gideon Kodua headed home in the 96th minute at Brisbane Road.
The equaliser ensured the Hatters stayed above Orient in the League One table. They remain just outside the play-off places, but it did little to appease one travelling fan.
Despite losing only twice in his 12 matches since taking charge, Wilshere faced criticism over a performance that produced just one shot on target, which happened to be the late goal.
As the former Arsenal midfielder walked over to applaud the away supporters at full-time, one fan loudly aired his frustrations.
Wilshere approached the individual and extended his hand in an effort to acknowledge the concerns.
While another person nearby continued to shout criticism, the 33-year-old remained calm and could be heard responding: “We got a point.”
The exchange did not escalate, with Wilshere keeping his composure throughout and seemingly calming the situation before moving on.
The moment quickly circulated online, drawing praise from supporters and observers. Many fans have appreciated the gesture of Wilshere and his attempt to connect with Luton fans.
