Bruno Fernandes remains a central figure at Manchester United after another influential campaign at Old Trafford during the 2025–26 season.
The Portugal international continued to lead United’s midfield, contributing heavily through goals, creativity and availability. Furthermore, his existing contract keeps him at the club until June 2027.
United also retain an option to extend that agreement by another year. However, Fernandes has continued to attract speculation over his future despite his long-term importance to the club.
Saudi Pro League clubs have repeatedly shown interest in the midfielder, with major European sides also monitoring his situation.
Nevertheless, Fernandes has continued to publicly demonstrate his commitment to United.
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old has now offered an intriguing indication about one midfielder he particularly admires following the summer transfer window.
While speaking on the Beast Mode On YouTube channel, Bruno Fernandes revealed Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott as a player he particularly likes when discussing potential candidates for the next PFA Team of the Year.
His comments are notable after Manchester United were credited with a strong interest in Scott during the summer.
Arsenal were also linked with the midfielder, while Chelsea reportedly considered him following Enzo Fernandez’s departure. Scott ultimately remained at Bournemouth after the transfer deadline passed.
The 23-year-old had established himself as one of the Premier League’s most sought-after midfielders following his move from Bristol City in 2023.
Additionally, Scott received his first senior England call-up last November. However, he missed out on Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.
The United captain praised Scott’s performances from last season and selected him as someone capable of earning PFA Team of the Year recognition.
Scott has already opened his account this season, scoring during Bournemouth’s 1–1 Premier League draw against Everton last weekend.
Fernandes’ admiration does not confirm that he personally pushed United to complete a transfer.
However, his comments provide an indication that he rated a player heavily linked with an Old Trafford move during the summer.
