Arsenal have suffered a massive setback with the latest injury to Bukayo Saka. The winger suffered a muscular injury during the warm-up of their game against Leeds United in the Premier League.
So, Noni Madueke stepped up to fill Saka’s shoes. Also, recently, against Manchester United, Mikel Merino suffered an injury that might rule him out for the rest of the season.
This is something Mikel Arteta feared. That is why during the summer transfer window, Arteta and Andrea Berta made sure that the Gunners have backups.
In the last few seasons, Arsenal were beaten in the title race because of the lack of depth in the squad. This season, they have quality backups for each position.
That is why the Gunners did not miss Saka against Leeds as Madueke filled his shoes wonderfully and scored his first Premier League goals for Arsenal, and also registered an assist.
However, the Gunners would like to have Saka back as soon as possible. The Sun has revealed the tentative return date for Bukayo Saka.
As per the report, Arsenal are expecting Saka to come back for the North London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
So, the England international will be out for 3 to 4 weeks. Bukayo Saka is having a quiet season according to his standards.
The 24-year-old has made 31 appearances in all competitions so far for the Gunners and scored only 7 times, along with the same number of assists.
However, his presence on the pitch is crucial for Arsenal’s title charge. So, Arteta will be hoping to have him back as soon as possible.
