Chelsea have stepped up their search for a new manager after parting ways with Liam Rosenior. The decision came after a poor run of form.

The Blues lost seven of their last eight games, including five in a row, which damaged their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

That slump forced the club to act. Rosenior lost support in the dressing room, and the 3-0 defeat to Brighton proved to be the final blow.

Chelsea moved quickly and turned to Calum McFarlane as interim boss. He has already guided them into the FA Cup final.

However, Chelsea will appoint a permanent manager before next season. The process has already begun behind the scenes. Several names have been discussed.

The club’s sporting directors have started exploring different options and making early moves to assess availability across the market. One candidate has quickly moved to the front.

According to Football.London, Chelsea have already made an approach for Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola and held initial contact with his representatives.

Chelsea used the meeting to understand his plans for the summer and assess whether he would be open to taking the job. That is where things become interesting.

Iraola is also open to joining Manchester United, who are conducting their own search. The Spaniard has impressed with his work over the past two seasons.

He has turned Bournemouth into a competitive side and pushed them into the race for European qualification. Iraola has also confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Ben Jacobs has reported that Chelsea are not alone in the race, and they continue to assess alternatives, with Marco Silva also under consideration.
