Manchester United didn’t appoint a permanent manager after they parted ways with Ruben Amorim following his explosive interview after the game against Leeds United at Elland Road.
Instead, they picked Michael Carrick as the interim boss, and since then, their fortunes have turned. The Red Devils were unbeaten under Michael Carrick before they faced Newcastle United.
And, the Magpies proved to be Carrick’s nemesis as Manchester United are yet to win a game at St. James’ Park since 2020.
Now, the Red Devils have not made a decision on whether they would make Carrick their next permanent head coach. They are tracking several managers across Europe.
They are also looking at various managers from the Premier League as well. However, one of their main targets could now sign a new deal at his current club.
According to Mark Douglas, AFC Bournemouth are planning to start new contract talks with Andoni Iraola. Now, the Spanish boss has impressed many Premier League clubs.
Tottenham Hotspur are also tracking Iraola as they will look to appoint a new manager next summer.
The Spurs could sack Igor Tudor following their humiliating Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.
However, if Iraola signs a new deal with Bournemouth, they might fail to land the Spaniard, who is also a target for Manchester United.
Apart from Iraola, United are also tracking several top managers across Europe. Their list includes managers such as Julian Nagelsmann, Xavi Hernandez, and Luis Enrique.
However, with recent form, Michael Carrick can also become a strong contender if he can secure Champions League football for the Red Devils.
