The England national team have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Thomas Tuchel’s men won all their games to qualify convincingly.
They scored 22 goals during their 8 qualifier games. However, the best achievement for the English team has to be not conceding any goals.
That is why England fans are already dreaming of lifting the coveted World Cup trophy next year in the USA.
However, for a former England manager, the World Cup qualifiers have become a forgettable one. That is why he is leaving his role as the manager of that country’s national team.
Steve McClaren has been sacked as the manager of the Jamaican national team. The 64-year-old left the role after Jamaica failed to qualify for the World Cup.
Jamaica needed to win the game against Trinidad and Tobago. And, McClaren’s team faced off against the team of his former protégé, Dwight Yorke, at Manchester United.
But they had to settle for a draw. In their final game, they had to beat Curacao. However, the game ended in a draw, killing the hope of Jamaica’s World Cup qualification.
As a result, Steve McClaren was sacked from the Jamaican national team. McClaren also managed England during their failed attempt to qualify for the 2008 European Championship.
Recently, he was the assistant manager at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag. McClaren had the same role under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.
Now, the 64-year-old will be looking to find a new job after his failure in the international circuit once again.
