Hull City have made a strong start to life back in the Premier League under Sergej Jakirovic.
The Tigers opened their 2026/27 campaign with a 2-0 victory over Manchester United before beating Coventry City 1-0.
They then drew 0-0 against Aston Villa, leaving Hull unbeaten after three league matches without conceding a goal.
Their early progress followed a major summer rebuild after promotion, with Hull adding 18 players to Jakirovic’s squad.
Nobel Mendy arrived from Rayo Vallecano for £20 million, while Konstantinos Tzolakis also joined during an active transfer window.
Matt Targett and Lucas Herrington were among the other additions before Hull completed further business on deadline day.
Tim Iroegbunam joined permanently from Everton for £22 million, with Ilyas Ansah and Christos Mouzakitis also moving to the MKM Stadium.
Now, a car crash involving one of Hull’s latest additions occurred close to the club’s training ground.
According to BBC News, Hull City winger Sorba Thomas was involved in a car crash on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham on Friday morning.
The 27-year-old’s grey Land Rover Defender was pictured overturned on its roof with broken windows following the crash.
However, Hull confirmed that Thomas walked away from the incident without suffering any injuries.
The club said the winger emerged from the vehicle completely unscathed after images of the crash began circulating on social media.
Humberside Police confirmed that emergency services remained at the scene and advised people to avoid the surrounding area.
Thomas only joined Hull earlier this month after completing a move from Championship side Stoke City.
The Wales international signed an agreement running until summer 2030, with Hull paying an undisclosed transfer fee.
Thomas represented Wales at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar before later completing his move to the Premier League club.
Hull can now turn their attention back to football after Thomas escaped the crash without injury.
