Hull City have enjoyed an impressive return to the Premier League after making significant changes following their promotion last season.
Sergej Jakirovic’s side sit eighth during the first international break after losing only one of their opening five league matches.
However, events away from the pitch have attracted attention after another Hull player was involved in a road accident near the club’s training ground.
The latest incident comes only weeks after Sorba Thomas flipped his Land Rover Defender while travelling along Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham.
Thomas escaped completely unhurt, although two other vehicles were also damaged during the accident close to Hull’s training facilities.
According to the Daily Mirror, Hull City midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath has now been involved in a similar accident on the same road.
Images circulating on social media showed a Mercedes lying on its side, with Gourna-Douath understood to have been driving the vehicle.
Fortunately, the summer signing also avoided injury, with Hull subsequently confirming that nobody was harmed during the road traffic accident.
Millhouse Woods Lane is a narrow road leading towards Hull’s training ground, where concerns have previously been raised about vehicle speeds.
Local councillor Phil Redshaw visited the scene following Thomas’ earlier accident and said there had recently been ‘a few near misses’ on the road.
He also contacted Hull’s club secretary asking for players and staff to exercise additional care while travelling through the residential area.
Thomas and Gourna-Douath both joined Hull during the summer following the club’s promotion back to the Premier League.
Their two accidents have now occurred within weeks of each other on the same road close to the Tigers’ training base.
Hull return to Premier League action against Everton at the MKM Stadium before travelling to face Fulham later in October.
