After sacking Ruben Amorim, most pundits expected Manchester United’s season to become the repeat of the last season.

When they sacked Erik ten Hag and hired Amorim, the Red Devils had high hopes from the Portuguese to turn things around at Old Trafford.

But he failed miserably. As a result, United finished 15th in the Premier League. And, after losing the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur, United are out of Europe this season.

Still, United backed Amorim to deliver, and they also backed him in the summer transfer window after signing the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha.

But the Red Devils didn’t get the results on the pitch. Also, after a fallout with the management, Amorim’s position as the head coach became untenable.

So, Manchester United decided to part ways with the Portuguese and hire an interim manager. They intend to hire a permanent boss next summer.

As the interim, they hired Michael Carrick, who was once a part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s coaching team and took charge as the interim manager after they sacked Solskjaer.

Since Carrick took charge, things have changed drastically at Old Trafford. They have won four games in a row. And the teams they beat were Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham, and Tottenham Hotspur.

So, many are already convinced that Michael Carrick is the right man to take United forward. However, according to Football Insider, Manchester United are ready to wait until the summer.

They are not ready make a decision hastily. The last time they did that, they appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. So, INEOS have learned from the mistakes of the Glazers.

Therefore, whether Michael Carrick will get the permanent job at Manchester United or not, it will be decided after the current season concludes.
