Manchester United are having a resurgence under Ruben Amorim. After starting the season poorly, they are on an unbeaten run of five games.
In that time, they won three and drew two. The three games they won were against Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion.
So, it is fair to say that the Red Devils are starting to show signs of becoming formidable once again. However, injuries have been a problem at United for some years.
After Christmas, they usually have a long list of players who get injured. This has been the case for the last three years. And, Ruben Amorim will be looking to change that.
One big boost Amorim might have while going into Christmas is the return of Lisandro Martinez. The Argentine has been out of action since January.
Having Martinez back will have an immense boost for Amorim’s backline. Meanwhile, the Portuguese boss might face an injury scare as well.
During the game against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko suffered an injury during the dying moments of the game.
So, the Red Devils had to finish the game with 10 men. Now, Manchester United have a huge injury blow with Sesko, who also withdrew from the Slovenian national squad for their World Cup qualifier.
Many speculated that the striker might have torn his ACL, which would have ended his season. However, according to the BBC, Sesko will be out for four weeks.
Still, they haven’t confirmed the length of his injury. The Manchester United boss will provide an update during his pre-Everton press conference.
Also, United will miss the likes of Amad and Bryan Mebumo for the AFCON, which starts on 21 December in Morocco.
So, the Red Devils will be hoping that Sesko will return before these players leave. So far in his United career, Sesko has played 12 games and scored two goals.
