Omar Marmoush fined over £250,000 McLaren

The DVLA attempted to contact Marmoush at his former apartment in Manchester city centre before his move to London.

Omar Marmoush has endured a challenging start following his summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Egyptian joined Spurs on loan from Manchester City at the end of August. The agreement includes an obligation to complete a permanent £60 million transfer next summer.

Marmoush moved to north London in search of more regular playing time. However, his opening weeks under Roberto De Zerbi have been difficult.

The 27-year-old is yet to score for Tottenham, with Dominic Solanke frequently preferred in attack. Marmoush did feature from the bench during the recent 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Away from football, the forward has now been punished over an issue involving his luxury car.

According to the BBC, Omar Marmoush has been fined after his McLaren 720S was found uninsured and not declared off the road. The supercar is estimated to be worth £250,000.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency brought the prosecution after Marmoush failed to pay a fixed penalty issued in June.

Officials discovered on June 17 that the McLaren was uninsured and had not been declared off the road.

The DVLA attempted to contact Marmoush at his former apartment in Manchester city centre before his move to London.

Marmoush did not enter a plea or respond to the documents sent by the agency. Teesside Magistrates’ Court subsequently found him guilty on October 5.

The case was handled through the Single Justice Procedure, which allows certain criminal cases to be decided without a conventional court hearing.

Marmoush received a £220 fine and was ordered to pay £100 in costs. He must also pay an £88 victim surcharge.

The punishment therefore totals £408, rather than the £250,000 valuation attached to the McLaren involved in the case.
