Manchester United signed Senne Lammens this summer and let Andre Onana leave on loan. However, Ruben Amorim started the season with Altay Bayindir in goal.
Onana played in one of the most humiliating games in United’s history against Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup tie. The fourth division side knocked United out on penalties.
Bayindir started the rest of United’s games until they were up against Sunderland at Old Trafford. That game saw the debut of Senne Lammens.
The 23-year-old was fantastic in that game. United, for the first time, kept a clean sheet in that game, and Lammens looked confident.
Bayindir panicked whenever a cross came into his box. But Lammens looked assured and decisive. And with the Belgian in goal, Manchester United have now won three games in a row.
This is the first time the Red Devils have achieved that under Ruben Amorim. Now, he has made himself the first choice keeper for United, and Bayindir will now have to sit on the bench.
Manchester United now look solid in the back, and much of the credit must go to Senne Lammens. United were also looking to sign Emiliano Martinez.
However, they went with Lammens as Ruben Amorim is building a side for the future, and the Belgian can be a long-term solution for the Red Devils.
Senne Lammens has made United fans smile with his goalkeeping skills. However, now he is making them go wild with a picture of himself.
On social media, a picture of three-year-old Senne Lammens wearing a Manchester United shirt has gone viral. It made the United fans fall in love with Lammens even more.
It shows that the Belgian was a United fan from a young age. And, it seems the fan in Lammens will push him even more to bring Manchester United back to where they should be in the Premier League.
