Most Premier League players dream of cup finals. However, one has his sights set on something very different. He not only wants to light up stadiums. One day, he hopes to light up a stage.
The 27-year-old has admitted he would love to perform in the West End. Theatre has become a genuine passion for him.
He enjoys watching musicals and respects the discipline required to perform night after night. In fact, he once came close to stepping into that world.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall revealed he nearly featured in a BBC production of The Lion King.
An injury ended that opportunity before it could begin. Still, the setback has not changed his ambition. Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said:
“They just look at me like I am alien. But one day I genuinely believe I’ll do something in the West End.
“I resonate with what they do every night, giving their best to a completely new set of eyes. That’s hard to do, so I respect them so much.”
His teammates may not share his enthusiasm, but Dewsbury-Hall remains serious about the idea.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall completed a £30 million move from Leicester City to Chelsea in 2024. But game time proved limited at Stamford Bridge.
Yet living in London allowed him to attend numerous shows and deepen his interest in theatre. Last year, he joined Everton, and his focus remains on football.
However, the Premier League star has not closed the door on future acting ambitions. There is also an international dream.
Uncapped at the senior international level, Dewsbury-Hall hopes to impress Thomas Tuchel ahead of the World Cup. Dewsbury-Hall said:
“I’ve spoken to Tuchel once or twice. He was at Old Trafford when I scored. He was at Fulham when I scored. So I wouldn’t mind him coming to more games!”
“He’s been complimentary and told me to stick at it. I feel like I am ready now. I feel like I am moving forwards again.”
For now, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s stage remains Goodison Park. But he still believes in the West End dream.
