Premier League football returns this weekend, and the most anticipated clash of the matchday 8 will be Liverpool vs Man United. And, the Manchester United boss is ready to surprise the Reds.
In the last game, the Red Devils defeated Sunderland. With that result, Ruben Amorim somehow saved his job.
Also, Sir Jim Ratcliffe said that the Portuguese manager has three years to prove that he is a good manager.
A win against the defending champions will surely help Amorim establish himself as the man to take United forward and bring back the glory days at Old Trafford.
Manchester United will be taking on a wounded Liverpool side. The Red suffered their third consecutive loss when they lost to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Now, the Portuguese boss is looking to devise a plan that might catch Arne Slot’s men off guard.
According to The Sun, Ruben Amorim is planning a surprise call up for this Liverpool vs Man United game.
United’s midfield setup has been a topic of debate for pundits this season. Playing Bruno Fernandes alongside Casemiro has raised eyebrows.
There is no doubt that the Manchester United captain is best-suited for a more advanced role. However, he might see a new partner for this Liverpool vs Man United game.
When the Premier League resumed after the September international break, Manchester United travelled to the Etihad to play Manchester City.
In that game, Manuel Ugarte started alongside Bruno Fernandes. The result is there for everyone to see. City swamped United’s midfield and brushed them aside for a comfortable 3-0 victory.
The same thing can happen this weekend as Ruben Amorim could call up Ugarte to start alongside Fernandes.
Casemiro could get a rest as he was featuring for Brazil during their international friendlies in Asia. That is why Amorim did not involve the Brazilian in the last training session.
Ugarte started three games for United this season, and the Red Devils lost all three. So, Amorim will be hoping for a change in luck in this Liverpool vs Man United game if he does start the Uruguayan.
