Tottenham Hotspur open talks with next manager

Breaking News - Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are in crisis. And they have picked Igor Tudor to get them out of it temporarily. Yes, they appointed the former Juventus boss as an interim after sacking Thomas Frank.

The way the Spurs were performing, it became just a matter of time before they would sack the former Brentford manager.

Under Frank, the Spurs were on an eight-game winless streak. The last time they won a game was against Crystal Palace, and it was a 1-0 victory at Selhurst Park.

Their recent loss to Newcastle United at home was the final nail in the coffin of Thomas Frank’s tenure as Tottenham manager.

Now, they have taken the same route as Manchester United. The Spurs will be looking to appoint their new permanent manager in the summer.

However, unlike United, the Spurs already know the man they want in the dugout when the next season starts after the 2026 FIFA World Cup. And, they have held initial talks with him as well.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with Mauricio Pochettino to take over as their next manager next season. He is currently managing the USA national team.

Recently, Pochettino was spotted in London, which fuelled the speculation regarding talks. However, at that time, he was in London for personal reasons.

Now, Pochettino enjoyed his best years as the manager with the Spurs. In his last stint, he managed 293 games for the Spurs.

The Argentine holds the record of the highest win percentage by a Tottenham boss with 54.3%. Although he didn’t win a trophy, he took the Spurs to the Champions League final.

Also, under him, Tottenham finished second in that famous 2016-17 Premier League season that Leicester City won.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, they reached the Champions League in four consecutive seasons. The Spurs management will be hoping for the same success if they appoint Pochettino in the summer.
