Frank Lampard’s return to management has quickly put him back in the spotlight, with Premier League clubs now tracking his situation ahead of the summer.
His work this season has not gone unnoticed. The former Chelsea midfielder guided Coventry City back to the top flight, ending a 25-year absence and winning the Championship title in the process.
That achievement has significantly boosted his reputation after mixed spells earlier in his managerial career. With promotion secured, attention has shifted towards what comes next.
Clubs in the Premier League are already assessing their managerial situations, and Lampard has emerged as a serious option.
Now, Chelsea have already parted ways with Liam Rosenior after a horrible run of results, and they are looking to appoint a permanent manager.
Also, Crystal Palace will part ways with Oliver Glasner, which has opened the door for possible replacements.
At the same time, Fulham could also face uncertainty if Marco Silva decides to move on.
According to The Independent, both Crystal Palace and Fulham are interested in appointing Frank Lampard, with Palace particularly intrigued by the idea of bringing him to Selhurst Park.
Despite that interest, a move is not straightforward. Lampard is currently settled at Coventry and played a central role in their promotion.
He was visibly emotional during the celebrations, which highlighted his connection to the club. Any approach would also require compensation.
Coventry may demand around £5 million to release him from his contract, which adds another layer to potential negotiations.
The situation could still evolve. Crystal Palace remain in the Europa Conference League and could qualify for European football. Meanwhile, Fulham are also pushing for a top-seven finish.
Meanwhile, Coventry have already started preparing for life in the Premier League by completing their first signing. They are also closing in on another signing by beating Newcastle United.
