AC Milan will want to improve on a disappointing 2024/25 season.

Despite reaching the final of the Coppa Italia final, Milan finished eighth in the Serie A table.

This was a league campaign for Milan that cost manager Paulo Fonseca his job in December 2024, and Sérgio Conceição at the end of the season

Massimiliano Allegri was hired over the summer, returning to the club he spent three and a half years at, winning one Serie A title.

Allegri returns to Milan after a difficult second spell at Juventus.

He will want to rebuild his managerial reputation, as well as bring the good times back to Milan.

With just one league title since 2011 and no Champions League triumph since 2007, this is a sleeping giant ready to wake up.

They had a deal in place that would have had a big role in changing their fortunes, but this is now off.

According to reports, the club have called off a deal for Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface.

After 32 goals in 61 appearances for Leverkusen, his goals would have been a welcomed addition after losing 15-goal Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City this summer.

With a €5 million loan fee agreed and a €24 million buy clause, this will come as a blow to a Milan side that lost their first game of the season to promoted side US Cremonese.
