Arsenal are eyeing a possible move for a Bayern Munich midfielder during the January window. The midfielder is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners are pushing to win their first Premier League title since 2003. Mikel Arteta remains satisfied with his squad.

But he knows that squad depth will be key to win the title this season. In the last three seasons, he lost the title because of injuries to key players at key times.

That is why Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta want to ensure that the Gunners don’t face the same problem once again.

So, if they get an opportunity to sign a quality player, they will join the race. And, something similar happening because they are now ready to rival the Spurs.

According to CaughtOffside, Leon Goretzka could leave Bayern Munich this month. His role at the club has changed since Vincent Kompany took charge last season.

While he still starts games in the Bundesliga, his minutes have gone down. When selected, he is often substituted around the hour mark.

Goretzka has also not started a single Champions League match this season. Because of that, his representatives are now exploring options.

As per the report, Arsenal are among the clubs that are monitoring his situation. The Gunners have already made a contact.

Alongside Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also spoken with the player’s representatives.

Everything now depends on Bayern’s stance. The German club must decide whether to approve a January exit or wait until the summer.

At this stage, Tottenham are seen as the more likely destination. Arsenal already have several quality midfield options. Because of that, a move to north London rivals Spurs appears more realistic.

Goretzka has made 67 appearances for Germany. His experience remains valued across Europe.
