Arsenal are now plotting a blockbuster move to sign a Manchester City target. The Gunners have already started planning for next summer.

They have decided who their first signing will be for next summer. Mikel Arteta wants the Gunners to make Piero Hincapie’s deal permanent.

Apart from that, Arsenal will be looking to add a midfielder. They were talking to Sandro Tonali’s agent in January as the Newcastle man was seen as a replacement for the injured Mikel Merino.

However, it seems Manchester United are now leading that race. So, Arsenal are now focusing on a different midfielder.

Look, Manchester United also have that player on their list of targets. However, Manchester City are reportedly his preferred destination.

Now, Arsenal are sensing an opportunity to join that race and hijack that deal from the grasp of Manchester City next summer.

According to Mark Brus on the Daily Briefing, Arsenal are now ready to enter the race to sign Elliot Anderson next summer.

Anderson has become a target for Manchester City as they look for a holding midfielder. The former Newcastle United academy graduate has been fantastic for Nottingham Forest.

Since joining Forest, he has become a world-class midfielder. Manchester City are even looking at him as a probable replacement for Rodri if the Spaniard leaves.

Rodri has already dropped a massive transfer bombshell, as Transfer News Live reported. However, it seems Manchester City need to act quickly.

Otherwise, Arsenal might hijack the Elliot Anderson deal, which would leave the Citizens scrambling for other alternatives.
