It’s been another decent season for Arsenal.

Despite all the troubles the Gunners faced, they still achieved a 2nd place finish and a journey to the Champions League semi finals.

However the headline remains, they need a trophy to cement themselves as one of the top clubs currently in Europe.

Particularly with a number of their rivals claiming silverware this season, it will hurt Gunners fans.

Arsenal suffered in multiple areas of the pitch, none more so than up front.

The Gunners saw a £40m bid for Watkins rejected in January, and had no choice but to use midfielder Mikel Merino in an auxiliary striker role in key games.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate to end the Gunners striker woes, and may be about to do just that with news coming out from London.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Arsenal have started moving initial concrete talks in a deal to sign RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko.

The 21 year old scored 21 goals last season for a struggling Leipzig side, and is one of the most sought-after forwards in European football.

With several injuries and suspensions to a decimated forward line, Arsenal’s inefficiency in front of goal has never been exposed as much as it was last season.

Leandro Trossard was the only forward who didn’t pick up an injury ruling them out for more than a month last season.

Arsenal need firepower, that is not in doubt, and it looks like they may have found it with Benjamin Sesko

Arteta will be hoping Sesko can fire Arsenal to the Premier League and Champions League.

Will the Slovenian be the man Arsenal need to take them to that next step? You wouldn’t bet against it.
