Arsenal and Liverpool are now both monitoring a midfielder’s situation at Real Madrid. The Gunners probably have the best midfield in the Premier League.
For Liverpool, Alexis Mac Allister have failed to live up to the expectations of last season. Also, playing Domink Szoboszlai out of position due to an injury did not help them either.
That is why the Reds are eyeing a move for a midfielder. But the same midfielder is on the radar of Arsenal as well. Andrea Berta has done amazingly since arriving at the club.
However, it looks like the Reds are showing more urgency in this deal. According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are already weighing up an ambitious move for Eduardo Camavinga.
To get this deal over the line, the Reds might have to pay between €80m and €100m. However, some reports suggest that Real Madrid would not sell him at any price.
Now, Arsenal are watching the situation closely. Mikel Arteta wants more depth in midfield and at left-back. Christian Norgaard has barely featured for the Gunners.
Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi are logging heavy minutes. At full-back, Piero Hincapie’s inconsistency and Riccardo Calafiori’s injury record leave room for improvement.
CaughtOffside claim Liverpool are currently ahead of Arsenal in the race. But both clubs face the same problem.
However, Real Madrid are standing firm, as they want to keep the 23-year-old at Santiago Bernabeu. The Frenchman is a core part of their long-term project.
More importantly, Camavinga himself is not pushing for a move. Still, Liverpool and Arsenal believe that the situation can change if they can put the right amount on the table.
For now, Real Madrid are not looking to sell him. But with major reinforcement planned next summer, things could change drastically.
