Arsenal won the Premier League title last season and started the current season by defeating Manchester City in the Community Shield.
Mikel Arteta’s side also reached the Champions League final after beating Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid in the knockout rounds.
However, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Arsenal on penalties in the final. The Gunners have strengthened again this summer as they prepare to defend their Premier League crown.
Bruno Guimaraes joined from Newcastle United for £75 million, while Christos Tzolis arrived from Club Brugge for £34m.
Arsenal also added Piero Hincapie and Illan Meslier to the squad during a busy summer transfer window. However, Arteta still wants to strengthen his frontline before the window closes.
Arsenal have shifted their focus towards Victor Osimhen as hopes of signing Julian Alvarez continue to fade.
According to 343 Digital, Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has told insiders that Victor Osimhen is not for sale under any circumstances.
That stance could make Arsenal’s pursuit extremely difficult despite their continued interest in bringing the Nigerian striker to north London.
Osimhen enjoyed another productive campaign with Galatasaray last season, scoring 22 goals across all competitions. He scored 15 league goals as the Turkish club secured another domestic title.
The 27-year-old also started the new season strongly by scoring twice against Corum FK, including a stoppage-time equaliser.
Galatasaray paid around €70 million to sign Osimhen from Napoli. Therefore, Arsenal could already face a significant financial commitment if Galatasaray changed their position.
French reports have suggested that Arsenal may need to pay at least £58m to secure his signature.
Various reports claimed that Arsenal are confident about completing a deal before the transfer window closes.
However, Ozbek’s position currently leaves Arsenal facing a major obstacle, with Galatasaray making it clear they do not want to sell Osimhen.
