Arsenal have started the new season strongly after beating Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield in Cardiff.
Riccardo Calafiori opened the scoring after just 24 seconds before Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard completed the convincing victory.
The result followed an encouraging pre-season campaign, which included a dominant 4-1 victory against Spanish side Girona.
Mikel Arteta’s side entered the new campaign as Premier League champions after ending their 22-year wait for the title last season.
Arsenal have also strengthened significantly this summer, signing Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United for £75 million.
Christos Tzolis arrived from Club Brugge for €40 million, while Illan Meslier and Piero Hincapie also joined Arteta’s squad.
However, Arsenal have also been working on departures as they continue reshaping their squad before the September 1 deadline.
Gabriel Martinelli has faced uncertainty over his future despite helping Arsenal win the Premier League and reach the Champions League final last season.
The Brazilian scored only one Premier League goal but found the net six times across 14 Champions League appearances.
According to Football Insider, Arsenal are planning to accept another offer for Gabriel Martinelli if one arrives from another club this summer.
That decision comes after Martinelli rejected the opportunity to join Galatasaray following an offer for the 25-year-old earlier this week.
Arteta left Martinelli out of the Community Shield squad, although the Arsenal manager explained that squad size restrictions caused his absence.
Meanwhile, Tzolis started on the left against Manchester City and provided two assists during Arsenal’s impressive victory.
Martinelli has made 278 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 62 goals and providing another 36 assists during that time.

Martinelli rejected the chance to join Galatasaray after the Turkish club submitted a £43M offer.
