Arsenal are now planning to shock the entire transfer market. They have finally joined the race to sign Marc Guehi.
The Crystal Palace captain was on the verge of joining Liverpool in the summer. However, Palace pulled the plug on this deal as they failed to sign a replacement.
Guehi’s contract will expire next summer. So, he will become a free agent. Currently, he can talk to any club outside of the Premier League and sign a pre-contract.
That is why Bayern Munich have already made contact with his agent. Also, Real Madrid and Barcelona are monitoring his situation.
However, it seems that Guehi prefers a move to the Premier League. Also, Liverpool remain an admirer of the England international.
But there are other Premier League heavyweights that are eyeing a move for him. The club that reportedly want Guehi in January are Manchester City.
They are ready to place a bid and sign the player because Pep Guardiola greatly admires Guehi. However, it seems the Citizens are not the only club ready to sign Guehi.
According to Football Transfers, Arsenal have now joined the race to sign Marc Guehi. However, the Gunners are ready to wait until the summer to sign the defender.
So, this will give Manchester City the advantage. They are currently having an injury crisis at the Etihad. Thus, signing Guehi will be key for them to surge ahead in the title race.
Crystal Palace are open to selling Guehi if they can get the right offer. So, if Manchester City meet the asking price of Palace, then they can easily sign the England defender.
The Citizens have done this with Antoine Semenyo in January when they beat the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United for his signature.
Now, with Arsenal waiting to pounce in the summer along with Liverpool, Bayern, Madrid, and Barcelona, the Citizens will look to get this deal over the line in January.
