Arsenal head into the new season as defending Premier League champions after ending their 22-year wait for the title in 2025-26.
Mikel Arteta’s side also reached the Champions League and EFL Cup finals, underlining their progress despite falling short in both competitions.
The Gunners have continued to strengthen an already impressive squad this summer.
Bruno Guimaraes has arrived from Newcastle United, while Christos Tzolis, Illan Meslier and Piero Hincapie have also joined.
Leandro Trossard and Christian Norgaard are among the notable departures as Arsenal reshape the squad for another title challenge.
Preseason has offered mixed results. Arsenal opened with victories over MK Dons and Girona before suffering a 3-1 defeat to Real Betis.
Arteta will use the remaining friendlies against Borussia Dortmund and Como to fine-tune his squad ahead of the Community Shield.
Strengthening the defence remains another priority, particularly with William Saliba facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are preparing a fresh bid for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa after seeing an earlier proposal rejected.
The report states that Villa value the England international at £60 million and remain determined to keep him.
The 28-year-old has two years remaining on his contract, with the Midlands club also attempting to tie him down to fresh terms.
Konsa has stayed high on Arsenal’s shortlist despite the failed opening approach. Villa, however, are under little pressure to sell.
They have already raised more than £140 million through the departures of Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans. Meanwhile, Lucas Digne is also expected to leave for Paris Saint-Germain.
The report adds that Unai Emery would only consider losing Konsa if a top-level replacement is secured first.
Nevertheless, Arsenal are could return with another offer as they continue their pursuit of one of their leading defensive targets.
