Arsenal preparing to spend £250m in major squad overhaul

Arsenal targeting five more signings worth £250m as Arteta demands squad overhaul.

Arsenal have already confirmed Piero Hincapie’s permanent arrival.

However, they’re just getting started.

Because according to new reports, the full scale of Arsenal’s summer ambition is even bigger than anyone had realised.

With up to five more signings planned that could collectively cost in the region of £250 million.

Arsenal targeting five more signings worth £250m as Arteta demands squad overhaul

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are pursuing a quintet of new additions this summer, with the list headlined by Morgan Rogers, Bruno Guimaraes, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Julian Alvarez and a goalkeeper.

Mikel Arteta is set to respond to the penalty shootout defeat to PSG in Budapest with a ruthless and ambitious rebuild.

The total outlay to secure all five could reach or exceed £250 million.

And that level of investment would represent the most significant summer spend in the club’s history.

Rogers leads the way.

However, the fee will exceed £100 million.

Unai Emery doesn’t want to sell.

But with Rogers tempted by the move and Arsenal’s financial firepower now confirmed, the pressure on Villa to accept is only going to grow.

Guimaraes is the midfield target.

However, Newcastle United would demand a significant fee, for a player who has been among the best midfielders in the Premier League for two consecutive seasons.

Bouaddi remains one of the most compelling names on the list.

The Lille teenager’s World Cup performances for Morocco has already prompted talks between Arsenal and his representatives, with Arteta’s staff conveying clearly that the 18-year-old would be an important first-team player immediately.

The goalkeeper position is being addressed following David Raya’s injury concerns that emerged late last season.

And Alvarez has not been completely removed from the picture.

The ambition is enormous.

Arsenal have come too far to stop now.
