Arsenal have continued strengthening their squad after winning their first Premier League title in 22 years last season.
Mikel Arteta’s side finished top with 85 points after recording 26 victories during an impressive league campaign.
They also reached the Champions League final but lost to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties. The Gunners have since invested heavily as they prepare to defend their domestic crown.
Bruno Guimaraes arrived from Newcastle United for £75 million, while Arsenal paid £34.5 million for Piero Hincapie.
They also added Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for £34 million and signed goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer.
However, Arsenal have not focused solely on established first-team additions this summer.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal have now reached an agreement with 16-year-old Liverpool striker Vincent Joseph over a move to north London. The clubs must still agree a compensation fee.
If Arsenal and Liverpool cannot settle on a figure, the Professional Football Compensation Committee will determine the compensation.
Joseph left Liverpool after his schoolboy registration contract expired and chose not to sign scholarship terms at Anfield this summer.
He scored eight goals in nine appearances for England’s under-16 side and also represented Liverpool in the under-18 Premier League.
Arsenal want to recruit promising youngsters who could eventually reach their first team or generate future transfer revenue.
The club have already agreed a deal for 16-year-old Mylo Bernard after his Crystal Palace schoolboy registration contract expired.
They are also set to complete the signing of Cardiff City youngster Axel Donczew. Arsenal previously pursued Jeremy Monga but considered Leicester City’s £10 million valuation too high.
Monga subsequently joined Manchester City in July. The Gunners also signed 18-year-old Elijah Upson following his departure from Tottenham Hotspur.
