Arsenal reignite interest in Serie A star

Arsenal must decide whether to formalise their interest.

Arsenal enter the new season looking to build on a remarkable campaign that delivered the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta’s side collected 85 points from 38 matches, ending their 22-year wait to become English champions again.

The Gunners also reached the Champions League final, although Paris Saint-Germain denied them another major trophy on penalties.

Arsenal have strengthened significantly this summer, with Bruno Guimaraes arriving from Newcastle United for £75 million.

Christos Tzolis also joined from Club Brugge for £34 million, while Arsenal made Piero Hincapie’s loan move permanent.

However, Arteta could still add another attacking option before the summer transfer window closes.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal have reignited their interest in Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz and are considering making a move.

The Gunners want another top player in that position and could open discussions with Yildiz’s representatives over a possible transfer.

Those conversations would help Arsenal establish whether a deal remains possible and what Juventus would demand for the 21-year-old.

However, convincing the Serie A giants to sanction his departure could prove extremely difficult this late in the window.

Juventus have consistently maintained that Yildiz is not for sale and regard him as an important part of their present and future.

Nevertheless, the Italian club could reconsider that position if they receive an offer they regard as impossible to reject.

Yildiz has received no offers so far and has never indicated that he wants to leave Turin. The Turkey international remains happy at Juventus after signing a new contract until 2030 in February.

Liverpool and Chelsea have also attracted links with Yildiz, although nothing concrete has emerged regarding either Premier League club.

Arsenal must therefore decide whether to formalise their interest as Arteta continues strengthening his title-winning squad.
